One very important part of your home air conditioning system is your ductwork. This is the component that runs throughout the various walls in your Indian Wells, CA, home and allows air to circulate through the air conditioning system. Just like every other component of your air conditioning system, you should keep an eye out for signs your ductwork will need repairing.

1. Temperature Fluctuations

One of the most obvious signs that there’s something wrong with your ductwork is when you notice temperature fluctuations from one room to the next. Faulty ductwork between certain parts of your home can allow cold air to escape before it reaches certain spaces. When you notice this sign of faulty ductwork, it typically indicates a larger leak in the system.

2. Overly Dusty Home

While it would be nice to live without dust in our homes, that’s not entirely possible. However, if you notice that your house is accumulating a lot more dust than you’re used to, it could be a sign that your ductwork has some leaks in it. When there are leaks in your ductwork, air pressure pulls dust in through the leaks and redispersed throughout the venting in your home.

3. Pest Problems

If you start to notice that pests are coming out of your air conditioning system in alarming numbers, it could be a problem with your ductwork. Smaller pests will make their way into your ductwork via leaks and gaps.

4. Debris Near Vents

One dead giveaway that you have some leaks in your ductwork is seeing debris around your vents. These vents run throughout your entire home and work to circulate air in and out of the ductwork. If your ductwork has a leak and is picking up a lot of dust and debris, you’ll notice that debris will start to accumulate around the vents in your home.

If you’ve noticed some of these signs that point to leaky ductwork, you should get in contact with Vic’s Air Conditioning Service right away. Let them take care of sealing up your ductwork so that you don’t have to deal with any more pests, excessive dirt, or temperature fluctuations throughout your home.
